Dude, you've gotta check this out
I have always loved music. And in particularly, I've always loved finding those bands that fall outside of the mainstream.
Recently, I've found two ways to help me get my new music fix. The first is being involved with Mixtapery. Twelve individuals making a "mix tape" during their assigned month to share with the remaining eleven. We've only had one collection, but I've already been turned on to the Fields.
The second in Last.fm. Similar to Pandora, but it links up to what you listen to in iTunes also so you get better recommendations.

My big musical finds over the weekend (and I'll blog about this a little more in-depth): A Band of Bees' Octopus, and the latest from The New Pornographers (which I recently wrote was not as good as expected...on second listen it far exceeds expectations).
Dude you GOTTA start setting aside $10/month for rhapsody/napster/whatever, or if nothing else get on that MPR music podcast. You'll love it.
